Paul Latimer is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Yeovil District Hospital and Sulis Hospital Bath.
Paul attended the University of Bristol before completing his surgical training locally in the South West, obtaining the MRCS in 2000 and FRCS (Tr and Orth) in 2006.
Paul was appointed to Yeovil Hospital in 2008, having returned from a fellowship in Australia. Paul Latimer specialises in hip and knee surgery.
His particular interests are in the treatment of femoroacetabular impingement with hip arthroscopy, hip replacement for Hip arthritis and Revision Hip surgery.
He also undertakes partial and full knee replacement surgery.
Paul has completed roles such as Clinical Director for Orthopaedics and Chair of the Senior Staff Committee at Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He enjoys teaching and training and obtained a postgraduate certificate in medical education in 2010. He is an educational supervisor and was the Orthopaedic Surgical tutor for three years. Mr Latimer is a keen researcher, contributing to the recent FASHiON trial, which was a large multi-center randomised controlled trial comparing hip arthroscopy and personalised hip therapy. Paul Latimer has worked as a substantive NHS Consultant at Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust since 2008 and has worked at Sulis Hospital Bath since 2014.
